The printed guide includes most of what you need to know about WIDIFLEX.

Powering WIDIFLEX via MIDI out or thru

As mentioned in the PDF Quick Start Guide, WIDIFLEX is powered by the MIDI din socket output on the hardware device it’s connected to, though a MIDI thru socket can also be used in many cases.

Power via MIDI has been part of the MIDI specifications for a long time so most MIDI products supply power as expected.

Products designed prior to the specification update do however not supply power via MIDI and WIDIFLEX can therefore not work with those products, without a powered device inbetween. Products such as powered MIDI thru boxes or MIDI power adapters can supply the powered needed but make sure to check the manufacturer’s specifications before buying.
